Bringing Colour to the Leegate Centre
Come to Leegate and see this colourful knitted picture of life in Lee Green.

The Leegate Knitters are now busy with a new project - knitting a nativity scene with many figures and animals. You can get involved by going to the Community Centre (opposite the Iceland shop) on Wednesdays 2 - 4pm when the group meets. New knitters are welcome - help is provided with the knitting.

We sent a list of questions to St Modwen about the new plans

Breathe easy! London Mayor announces plans for Ultra Low Emissions Zone to be extended to the South Circular in 2021

There will be a full consultation.
Owners of older cars are likely to have to pay but there are plans for a "sunset" period to phase it in over three years for the residents of the central zone, so that may be offered to residents here.

As revealed last month: Grayling is proposing cutting our rail services so all trains go to only one London destination.

Blackheath Bugle has launched a petition to have it debated in Parliament. You can find it here: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/190894

Here's the link to the consultation document again: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/604904/south-eastern-rail-franchise-public-consultation.pdf

The key question is number 17 on page 23. Here's the link to the online response survey: http://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/QHQQM/

Manor Lane - street-scaping or street destruction?

Residents where the work is taking place have suffered damage to their property but there is also damage to the original granite kerbstones which are replaced with new blocks. The contractor is to compensate the resident for the damage - but what about the kerbstones?

Alexander slams Transport Minister veto on new carriages for southeastern

Lewisham East MP Heidi Alexander has condemned yet another blow to the area's commuters from Transport Secretary Chris Grayling. The Department of Transport has now vetoed plans for the company to add more rolling stock.  A clearly angered Alexander responded, saying that. "This  is a really disappointing response from the rail minister.  When a cross party group pf MPs met with him before Christmas, he gave the strong impression that new carriages would be on their way soon."

Rough sleeping comes to Lee Station

We've all seen the huge rise in homeless people sleeping rough round Charing Cross but is this the first rough sleeper at Lee Station? St Mungo's has a local hostel - perhaps it can help. If you see someone sleeping outside you can let streetlink.org.uk know.

Outrage over rail U-turn

The decision by Transport Secretary Chris Grayling to veto plans to hand control of southeastern to Transport for London has provoked outrage from Heidi Alexander our MP - and from a fellow Tory MP

St Modwen's srtist's impression

The rumours that the plans had been called in by the London Mayor are wrong

St. Modwen is still working through the last of the technical issues related to additional information requested by the GLA.
They currently expect this process to be concluded this side of Christmas.
The end is in sight.  Maybe.
