Community Showcase: Manor House Gardens Festival, Saturday 24 June

Are you keen to help out in your local community, but not quite sure how best to put your interests and skills to use? There are many local groups covering a wide range of activities in Lee Green.

Come to Manor House Gardens Festival on Saturday 24 June and visit the Assembly’s Community Showcase tent.

Look out for the Assembly tent

Local community groups will be inviting you to get involved, either by taking part in one or more of their activities, or as a volunteer.

You may be able to suggest something you would like to see happen.

The Showcase was a big success at last year’s Festival with a dozen groups taking part, thanks in part to the support of Friends of Manor House Gardens.

The Assembly tent was enjoyed by all in 2016

And, if you already belong to a group that hasn’t yet registered, then hurry as spaces are limited.

Groups can promote what they do, increase the numbers taking part in their activities and recruit extra volunteers.

Look out for a special booklet “Our Community, Our Say” which will provide information about all the groups. Most of them are members or supporters of a newly-formed Consortium, created to work together and support each other in meeting the needs and hopes of local people.

Stalls are free, if you register on time, so book one by contacting Assembly Coordinator Ade Joseph on 020 8314 6026 or email
