Photo competition

Terms & Conditions

  1. The competition is promoted by the Lee Green Assembly and is open to UK residents only (including residents of the Channel Islands and Isle of Man). Entrants under the age of 16 years need to have parental or guardian consent to enter.
  2. Photographs may be on any theme but must reflect life in Lee Green.
  3. Photographs entered must be taken inside the Lee Green ward. The boundary of the ward is shown on this map. (http://www.lewisham.gov.uk/Pages/interactive-map.aspx).
  4. Photographs of identifiable children cannot be accepted. If your picture includes identifiable adults you must ensure you have their permission.
  5. You can submit as many images as you want.
  6. All entries must be by email. Hard copy cannot be accepted.
  7. Entries should be sent to info@leegreen.london. Please put Photo Competition in the subject line.
  8. Each entry must include a caption, the location where it was taken and the entrant’s name and contact telephone number.
  9. The competition closes at midnight on Saturday 31st January 2015. Entries received after this date will not be considered. We cannot accept any responsibility for any problem with delivery which may result in any entry being lost or delayed. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
  10. The prizes will consist of £150 first prize, two second prizes of £50 each plus one runner up prize of a Sainsbury’s voucher worth £30.
  11. The winners will be chosen by a panel of expert judges who live in the area.
  12. The winners will be judged on the following criteria:
  • Composition
  • Originality
  • Public appeal
  1. Entrants must not be professional photographers. For the purposes of this competition, a professional photographer will be considered to be someone who makes more than half their annual income from the sale of their photographs.
  2. Judges will review all the entries and select their overall favourite. The judging will take place within two weeks of the competition closing date (31.1.15).
  3. If a winner cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, the Lee Green Assembly reserves the right either to offer the prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the prize in any future competition.
  4. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs entered.
  5. Entrants must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
  6. By entering the competition you assign a licence for the use of your picture to the Lee Green Assembly, free and in perpetuity.  You retain copyright in the photographs that you submit.
  7. By entering, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and we reserve the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if we have reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules.
  8. These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
